The Kentucky Requirement

Effective September 30, 2024, Kentucky veterinarians must complete 2 hours of CE in one of three topic areas:

  • 2 2 hours minimum — of continuing education in ONE of the following topic areas
  • 🔀 Choice requirement — Veterinarian selects which topic to fulfill (antimicrobials, controlled substances, OR laws)
  • 30 Part of 30 hours total — These 2 hours count toward the 30 required renewal hours

"For the renewal period and reinstatements beginning after September 30, 2024, at least two (2) of the thirty (30) required renewal hours shall be in: 1. Pharmacy or controlled substances; 2.
